Description
This course offers a comprehensive clinical overview of the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of sick foals in their first hours and days of life. Through the study of maternal, neonatal, and environmental risk factors, criteria are established to classify the severity of the clinical presentation and prioritize medical intervention. The main pathologies, clinical signs, and diagnostic methods applied to the examination of the neonate are addressed. Furthermore, specific therapeutic strategies for different clinical presentations are explored, integrating the rational use of fluid therapy, antimicrobials, nutritional support, and intensive monitoring.
