Description

In this webinar, Dr. Catalina Castañeira offers a clear, conceptual, and up-to-date perspective on the impact of in vitro embryo production in horses, focusing on techniques such as OPU and ICSI. Throughout the session, she will discuss the general principles of these techniques, their main applications in assisted reproduction, and the increasingly important role they play in current reproductive programs.

In addition, she will analyze the benefits, drawbacks, and limitations of these biotechnologies, considering both their potential to produce embryos capable of developing into healthy foals and the technical, economic, and practical challenges involved in their implementation. The session will provide an understanding of the current state of the art and offer basic criteria for evaluating their usefulness in different reproductive contexts.
