This course offers a comprehensive overview of functional biotypes and the main horse breeds with economic and sporting relevance in different productive contexts. The role of the horse in the Latin American equine industry will be analyzed, addressing its economic, social, and cultural impact. Additionally, native breeds will be studied, along with their value in regional identity and breeding systems adapted to diverse realities, promoting a critical perspective on the conservation, production, and commercial projection of equines in the region.
