Description
This course provides key knowledge for understanding the biology, genetics, and management of equines in different areas of application, addressing the evolution, domestication, and genetics of equines, including horses, donkeys, and mules. Topics such as zoological classification, the differences between wild and domestic equines, and genetic selection processes applied to equine breeding will be explored. The principles of coat color genetics and their impact on the selection and valuation of horses in the market will also be analyzed. In addition, the study of donkeys and mules will be explored in-depth, highlighting their comparative anatomy, welfare, and uses in different productive and sporting contexts.
