Description
This course offers a comprehensive overview of forage production, conservation, and management in pastoral systems, with a special focus on equine nutrition. Fundamental aspects such as short-, medium-, and long-term forage planning, the selection of forage species according to the agroecological zone, and grazing strategies to optimize feed availability and quality will be addressed. In addition, various forage conservation methods, including hay, haylage, and silage, will be explored, highlighting their impact on equine nutrition. Through case analysis and the application of technical criteria, participants will acquire key tools to improve forage production efficiency and ensure a balanced diet for equines.
