Description
This course offers a comprehensive view of the biological, behavioral, and environmental foundations that influence equine well-being, also incorporating the emotional and cognitive dimensions of the horse as a sensitive and social species. Through the study of natural behavior, the genetics of temperament, and the mechanisms of perception and learning, participants will understand how factors such as stress, housing type, feed quality, and human-animal interaction impact health, behavior, and athletic performance. Scientific assessment models such as the Five Freedoms and the Five Domains will be analyzed, and practical tools will be developed to diagnose behavioral disorders and design environments that promote equine well-being from an ethical and evidence-based approach.
